This is a fantastic book! We have traveled to Costa Rica 14 times and have been to 2 seminars on retiring there. Even having the knowledge that we do, this book is chockful of information we can use for our move there next year. I can't recommend it enough for either someone just starting to think about an international move or someone who is already committed to a move.Product details

Retiring in Costa Rica Or Doctors Dogs and Pura Vida Third Edition eBook Helen Dunn Frame Reviews
Helen Dunn Frame's "Retiring in Costa Rica" is a god-send. Without it I never would have considered such things as what do I take when I move and what do I sell? Am I really going to ship my TV to CR? That's nuts, but I was thinking of doing just that. Reading this book taught me so much about relocating, whether to Costa Rica or any other country that I feel quite indebted to the author. With her first-hand experiences it's like having a personal advisor beside me every step of the way. It doesn't hurt that this book is a real page turner as well. The author's foreign adventures are extremely entertaining. If you're thinking of relocating anywhere, this book will definitely be of great value to you.
I loved this book it was very informative and the author continually updates the info. Very helpful as we are moving there soon.
I thought I'd found a really good guide to retirement in Costa Rica when I was reading the sample of this book. Then, after buying the book, it was as if someone else took over writing it. I really wanted information, so I kept slogging through until I just couldn't put up with the frustration anymore. I don't know that editing would be enough to help this book. I could not follow, or even figure out what the topic was at times. It was beyond a disappointment.
I already live here so most of the stuff I read wasn't new to me, however it would be a good read for people considering a move to C.R.
This book was not so good. I was looking for information and facts. This is more of personal experiences and much of that is blah and drawn out. For example, I was looking for information on what requirements are for bringing my pet to Costa Rica. The pet chapter is much about her personal experiences with adopting dogs and stray dogs coming by her home. Oddly the questions I was looking to answer were posed at the end of the chapter...have you considered how to bring a pet to CR...what vet requirements exist about importing animals?...the very questions I was looking for answers in this book were posed to me the reader as questions with no answers.
lots of good information for anyone considering a move or even more travel insight , particularly
for longer stays in the country,
I read about Helen Dunn Frame on the CRL web letter and was so glad I ordered her book. We are moving to Costa Rica in January 2014 and her writings are so helpful and she has so much knowledge to share. Thank you Helen!
