The second book in the Shadow Walker series is even better than the first. The first one was pacy but this one never slows down for a single second. It grabs you and glues you to the page.Our protagonist's world gets darker, more paranoid, and more disturbing as he becomes embroiled in a fight against the Watchers and discovers more about his own powers. Poor Jordan! The author really puts him through the wringer, but it's Jordan's resilience and utter devotion to his friends and family that keep us turning the pages.
Haakenson has hit his stride here. I can't wait to see how all this ends in the next one. If Haakenson's ability to keep pushing the suspense further and further is anything to go by, the conclusion should be spectacular.

As he did in Walking in the Shadows, Brad Haakenson delivers in Out of the Shadows. There was never a dull moment in this book, and the story gets more complex, but not so much that your lost and give up. I can't wait for the third book in this trilogy!
Fifteen year old Jordan is The Shadow Walker, uniquely able to move at will between worlds (shadows) and a young man with powerful enemies. He struggles to appear like a normal sophomore at school, but he must grow up fast and learn to control his immense powers. The safety of his family and friends depends on him, for The Watchers, an ancient secret society sworn to find and destroy him, will stop at nothing until they do.
This is the second volume in the Shadow Walker trilogy. It is a fine story, fast paced and with lots of action, and I have to say, it must be any teenaged boy's dream to wield power like Jordan does -- but he still hates taking out the garbage and is painfully sensitive to what his friends think of him!
I really enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the third volume of the trilogy.
